Skin serums are becoming increasingly popular with growing awareness in the last 12 months. What are serums and why are they so popular?
Skin serums are usually small bottles of higher concentrated product that mostly targets certain skin issues with most of them being anti aging - so you can get a serum for just about anything. Hyperpigmentation, lines and wrinkles, acne, dehydrated and dry skin, oily skin and even inflamed sensitive skin.
Do you remember ampoules? They were these capsule, tablet looking things that you broke and inside was the concentrated skin serum that you applied on your face before the final moisturiser. You can still get these but a bottle of serum is the trend right now and alot easier to use than fussing about with breaking a glass ampoule. Serums can either be oil based or water based and give the skin a big boost of an active ingredient - whatever it is you need such as retinol (vitamin A) or vitamin E, vitamin C to increase collagen, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, essential oil, caffeine, glycolic acid to name a few. They are intended to treat the skin with an intense dose of vitamins and nutrients before you apply your moisturiser and sunscreen. They can be applied under a face mask improving the effectiveness of the mask. They can be used together with a facial tool such as the Foreo ufo or any facial machine that helps 'push' serums into the deeper layers of the skin.
Don't be afraid of serums! Break out of your usual cleanse and moisturise routine and add a serum in between - this will speed up your glowing results and improve your skin each time you use it. Start with small amounts, try an oil based and a water based. Mix them up! You will find our serum kit contains 2 serums. An oil based to go on first, followed by our water based. Each bottle has individual and different harmonic ingredients that are so gentle and contain low to no harsh essential oils and absolutely no perfume/fragrance.

Start with the cleanser oil and smooth this over your face dissolving makeup, rinse well using a face cloth. Now we have 2 serums - Goddess oil, take about 4 drops of this gorgeous serum and smooth over your face and neck. Lastly take our Glow Serum and use about 3-4 drops and smooth this over face and neck over top of the Goddess oil. Done! You just used 2 serums!
